Gabrielle Torres:
Miss Albuquerque 2014 & Miss Bernalillo County 2015 Gabrielle's experiences with modeling and fashion stem from her years competing in the Miss New Mexico Organization, which is apart of the Miss America scholarship pageant. She was the first runner up to Miss New Mexico for 2013, 2014 and 2nd runner up in 2015. She has received over $20,000 in scholarship, and has used every penny to fund her 3 years at the University of New Mexico. As a junior at UNM, Gabrielle is pursuing her BA in Criminology and Communication with a minor in Military Studies. She is a member of the National Security Scholars Program, and is working to earn her certification in National Security Analysis. Gabrielle has also competed in several fitness competitions throughout the last few years, and recently won the titles of Fitness Southwest Commercial Model and Fitness Model. She then went on to compete at an international level at the Fitness America Competition in Las Vegas, and placed top 5 in Miss Bikini America. Her love for fitness, health, and wellness extend far beyond the stage. Gabrielle is an advocate for fighting youth obesity and as a member of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” Campaign, she had the opportunity to travel to the White House and meet both Michelle Obama and President Obama as the New Mexico representative for the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge. Gabrielle is a classically trained pianist, violinist, vocalist, and guitarist, and is also a piano instructor. She is a cadet in UNM’s Army ROTC program, and is working to earn her commission as an officer in the United States Army. |
